Mark Francis Shippie, 57, a resident of Salem, NH, died Friday, March 6, 2015, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, following a courageous battle with ALS. He was the beloved fiancée of Darlene (Thibeault) AuCoin, with whom he resided.
Born in Boston on May 9, 1957, he was the son of the late John W. and Mary A. (Ryan) Shippie.
Mark was a graduate of Brighton High School, and was employed as a mortgage loan officer for Guaranteed Rate of Chicago, IL to the end of his illness.
His hobbies included his Koi Pond, aquarium fish, driving his '67 SS Camaro, cooking, cruising, and hanging out with family and many friends. He especially enjoyed his time spent with his "sweetness" Darlene.
In addition to Darlene he leaves a daughter, Paige Shippie, a student at Endicott College in Beverly, MA; a son, Mark W. Shippie of Lynn, MA; three brothers, Stephen Shippie and his wife Carol of Charlotte, NC, John "Jay" Shippie of W. Roxbury, MA and Thomas Shippie of Watertown, MA; Darlene's children, Marc and Shane AuCoin. He also leaves his dog, Hunter. He was a brother of the late James Shippie.
