Mark J. Miller, a Dracut resident and beloved husband of Linda (Brody) Miller passed away surrounded by his family following a six month battle with cancer on Friday, October 8, 2021. He was 53.
Born in Woburn on May 31, 1968, he was a son of the late Geraldine (Hennedy) Miller, and Donald Miller of Burlington who survives him.
Mark grew up in Burlington and was a 1986 graduate of Burlington High School. He then went on to graduate from Bridgewater State University with a degree in communications. While at Bridgewater he was a founding father of the Sigma Pi Fraternity. Upon graduation he embarked on a career in communications, working most recently as a field consultant for AAA.
Mark and Linda met while in college at the "happiest place on earth" where they were both enrolled in the Disney College program for a semester. This past May they celebrated their 26th anniversary.
Mark enjoyed skiing and reading. He was an avid Boston sports fan, mainly the New England Patriots. Mark loved to travel with his family, especially their trips to Disney World, and most recently his favorite vacation with them was Aruba. Mark was a diehard fan of Bruce Springsteen.
A habitual volunteer, Mark was an alumni volunteer and advisor for the Sigma Pi Fraternity, he coached his children's sports teams in soccer and baseball. He served for many years on various local boards such as the Dracut Baseball Association, Dracut Soccer Association, and President of the Dracut All Sports Boosters. He also volunteered his time with the Alzheimer's Association, and Dracut Public Schools. As many people know Mark was a liver transplant recipient 10 years ago. He became a volunteer and spokesperson for Donate Life, New England.
Mark was happiest surrounded by his family. He was extremely proud of the fact his mother Geraldine, sisters Marybeth, and Judy, his wife Linda and daughter Megan were all Registered Nurses.
Surviving Mark is his wife Linda (Brody) Miller; daughter Megan Miller; son Matthew Miller all of Dracut; his father Donald Miller of Burlington; his siblings, Michael and Sandra Miller of Hampton, NH, Kevin and Christina Miller of Pelham, NH; and many nieces nephews, cousins and friends. Mark was also the brother of the late Marybeth Thibodeau, Judy Armstrong, and brother in law of the late Gary Thibodeau.
Relatives and friends are invited to Mark's Life Celebration at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street, from 4 until 8 PM on Wednesday. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM at St. Francis Church, 115 Wheeler Rd., Dracut. Burial will be private.
