Marion L. (Eklund) Simpson

Marion L. (Eklund) Simpson, 97, a lifelong Dracut resident died Sunday December 7, 2014 following a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Milton A. Simpson.

Born in Dracut on May 14, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Louis V. and Grace Marion (Mitchell) Eklund.
Marion spent many years working for Bard Atomic in the supplies department as well as working as a caregiver and homemaker. She was a Sunday school teacher at First Congregational Church for more than 20 years. Marion loved sewing, reading and Science Fiction. She dedicated her time to being at Brownie Troop Leader at the Varnum School. An excellent baker, her specialty was baking Christmas cookies, more than 100 dozen at a time! A talented seamstress, Marion has made many beautiful wedding gowns for her family over the years.
She was a member of the Knit-Wits knitting group and Tau Phi Omega, a women's church organization.

Marion was the loving mother of the late Mary-Ann Conlon. She is survived by her sons-in-law, Raymond F. Woodman, her beloved caregiver, of Dracut and William H. Conlon, III of Dracut; two grandsons, Jonathen Woodman and Scott Woodman; a granddaughter, Julia Conlon; two great grandsons, Jordan and Brendan Woodman; her sister, Carlyn R. Miller of Newport News, VA; a brother-in-law, William Sykes of Plymouth; two Godchildren, Cheryl Baker and Ellen Adams; several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Clinton L. Eklund, Richard T. Eklund, Norman Eklund and Grace Sykes.
