Mario J. Orrigo, 81, died Saturday August 11, at his Arlington residence. He was the beloved husband of Ella M. (Loiodice) Orrigo, with whom he would have celebrated 59 years of marriage on September 4.
Born in New York, New York he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Marino) Orrigo.
Mario was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army. He was a communicant of St. Eulalia Parish in Winchester.
Prior to his retirement Mario was employed by the town of Arlington in the Public Works Department as a carpenter for 29 years.
He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and loving grandfather. Surviving him besides his wife are five children, Joseph Orrigo and his wife Karen of Medford, Donna Arone of Arlington, Saleen Giammatteo and her husband William of Gloucester, Melina Ryan and her husband Scott of Wakefield, Rev. Mario J. Orrigo, II, Parochial Vicar of St. Michael Parish, Lowell; a brother Anthony Orrigo of NY,NY; three sisters, Gloria Kottes of Staten Island, NY, Mary Pappas of Astoria, NY, Anna Gibbons of Floral Park, NY; seven grandchildren, Richard and Joseph Arone, Jennifer, Joseph and James Orrigo, Bianca and Tyler Ryan; two great grandchildren, Richard and Kirron Arone; and several nieces and nephews.
