Mario V. Aponte

Lowell - Mario V. Aponte, a resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, died Monday June 28, 2010 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House following a brief illness. He was 57.
Mario was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico on June 29, 1952, a son of the late Valentine and Ramona (Cruz) Aponte, and stepson of Santiago Figueroa of Puerto Rico who survives him.
He was employed by Saint Gobain as a tower operator and a floor supervisor at the time of his death.
Mario's family noted that he was a hard worker, and loving father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing and bowling.
Surviving him besides his stepfather are a daughter and son in law, Candy and Victor Codero of Lowell; a sister and brother in law Nilda and Roberto Rivera of Dracut; two grandchildren Joshua Aponte, Jalissa Aponte; a great grandson J-Anthony Gonzalez; four step grandchildren, Maribel, Henry, Ashley and Anabel Cordero; four step great grandchildren, Jason, Jonathan, Joel, Jaida-Marie; and many family and friends including his childhood friend Gary; and his special friend Milly Figueroa.
