Marilyn R. Zielinski

Marilyn R. Zielinski, 83, a Dracut resident, widow of the late William C. Zielinski, died Wednesday June 23, 2010 surrounded by her loving family at the Lowell General Hospital after a period of declining health.
Born in Lowell on October 9, 1926, she was a daughter of the late George and Nellie (Collins) Mahoney.
Marilyn attended Lowell schools and later attended Boston Latin High School and then graduated from Roslindale High School. In her younger days, Marilyn worked for a local telephone company as an operator. Shortly after starting her time in the workforce, Marilyn became a devoted mother to eight children and then transitioned into private child care for the duration of her career.
She enjoyed reading, puzzles, knitting and playing cards. Some of her most precious time was spent with her grandchildren as well as with her friends at Newfound Lake.
Marilyn was a communicant of St. Michael Church in Lowell.
Survivors include six sons, Richard P. Zielinski and his wife, Beatrice of Palm Coast, FL, Robert W. Zielinski and his wife, Carolann of Allenstown, NH, David M. Zielinski and his wife, Lynne of Barnstead, NH, Peter J. Zielinski and his partner, Patty Whiteneck of Pelham, NH, Paul E. Zielinski and his partner, Mary Bradley of Dracut, William C. Zielinski and his wife, Maria of Dracut; two daughters, Karen M. Zielinski of Hudson, NH, Kristine M. Zielinski and her partner, Laurie Methven of Bradford, NH; four grandchildren, Jonathan, Alexa, Andrew and Caitlynn; a brother, John Mahoney of Lowell; her Godchild, Donna Pratt of Newburyport; dear friends, Gwendolyn and Kenneth Keddie of Tyngsboro and Susan and Greg Turgeon of Westford; several nieces and nephews.
