Marie Rose Pelletier

Marie Rose (Lafond) Pelletier (Memere), widow of Omer M. Pelletier, a resident of Lowell, died Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the Saints Medical Center following a brief illness. She was 97.
She was born in Weedon, Canada on August 26, 1911, a daughter of the late Oscar and Angelina (Gagne) Lafond.
In earlier years, Marie was a stitcher for the former Grace Shoe Company. She was a communicant of the former Ste. Jean the Baptiste Church in Lowell. She had held membership in the Lowell Senior Citizen Club.
Family and friends would describe her as independent, witty and feisty. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Marie loved to travel (especially on cruises). She will lovingly be remembered for her contagious smile.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter in law, Maurice and Claire Pelletier of Lowell, Ronald Pelletier of Provincetown. Four brothers, Armand Lafond of Lowell, Raymond (and Marlene) Lafond of FL, Leo Lafond of Arizona and Henry Lafond of N Carolina. Two sisters, Alice Vezina of Pepperell, Rita (and George) Ricard of Westford, and her four grandchildren, Michael Pelletier, Brian Pelletier, Lynn (and Keith) Gannon, Deborah (and Glenn) Cadigan; seven great grandchildren, Zachary and Joshua Gannon, Seth, Noah and Jesse Cadigan along with Sarah and Tiffany Pelletier; two great great grandchildren Dillon and Jonathan along with several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Eugene and Lucien Lafond, Cecile Ouellette, Jeannette Beauregard and Bernadette Donato.
