LOWELL - Marie-Marthe A. (Gionet) Brodeur, 56, a resident of Lowell, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 29, 2010 at her home.
She was born in Montreal, Canada on August 8, 1953.
Ms. Brodeur was raised by her grandparents, the late Alexandrine and Rudolph Rondeau.
She attended the Varnum School and St. Joseph's School.
She had been employed by Gambet's Shoe Shop, Hub Hosiery, and had also worked as a nurses' aide for local nursing homes.
She was a former member of the Centralville Social Club.
Ms. Brodeur's interests included cooking, going for walks and dancing. She also loved animals.
She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, but especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Ms. Brodeur is survived by two daughters, Michelle Landry and her husband David of Pelham, NH and Laurie Chartier of Woburn; a son, Daniel Chartier of Lowell; a sister, Mireille Sabbio of Lowell; seven grandchildren, Joseph Chartier and Tyler Landry, both of Pelham, Megan Metzemaekers and Jessica Symonds, both of Woburn, Daniel Chartier, Jr., Joshua Chartier and Kaitlyn Chartier, all of Lowell; a special niece and nephew, Lisa Montmarquet and Michael Montmarquet, both of Lowell. She was a sister of the late Daniel "Frenchy" Gionet and aunt of the late Sgt. Daniel Gionet.
