Marie A. Eno … age 102, the oldest of five generations
DRACUT – Marie A. (Desmarais) Eno, a resident of Dracut, wife of the late George A. Eno, died Saturday morning, March 5, 2011 in a local nursing home. She was 102.
Born in Lowell on February 19, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Emerance (Paquette) Desmarais.
At the time of her passing, Mrs. Eno was the oldest of five generations of the Desmarais family.
Prior to her retirement in 1968, she was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft Company of Hartford, CT. She had previously been employed by Hub Hosiery of Lowell.
She was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church and was a member of the St. Anne Society and the St. Louis School Alumnae Association. She was also a member of the Dracut Senior Citizens and AARP.
Mrs. Eno will be remembered as a strong, independent and caring woman.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews among whom are Albert Desmarais of Billerica, Agnes Adams of Dracut, Richard Desmarais of Searsport, ME, Kenneth Desmarais of Baltimore, MD, Joseph O. Gaudet of Dracut, Paul J. Gaudet of Gilford, NH, Dorothy Turkowski of Methuen, Pauline Dube of Lowell, Roger Frechette of Kissimmee, FL and Jeannine Gagnon of Dracut, with whom she resided for the last 18 years; also many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews among who is Renee’ J. Gagnon of Pelham, NH who helped care for her. She was a sister of the late Wilbrod and Hector Desmarais, Blanche Bailey, Irene Boisvert, Yvonne Dube, Margaret Gaudet and Doris (Frechette) Bisson.
