Marie A. (Coan) Biron

May 19, 1933 — May 30, 2018

LOWELL - Marie A. (Coan) Biron, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 30, 2018 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts at the age of 85. She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on May 19, 1933, daughter of the late Henriette (Goyette) and Albert Coan. She was a graduate of Lowell High School and a lifetime resident of Lowell, MA.

Marie was the devoted wife of Paul R. Biron, Sr. with whom she shared 47 years of marriage before his death on January 10, 2001.

Marie's children were her pride and joy and she devoted her life to caring for her children and family before returning to work in 1988 as a clerk in the Billing Department at the Greater Lowell Visiting Nurses' Association. Marie retired at age 80 after being employed for 25 years.

She is survived by her nine (9) children and her sons/daughters-in-law: Marian and William Roper of North Adams, MA; Robert Biron of Wylie, TX; Patricia Arsenault and her long-term partner, Alan Rantala of Westminster, MA; Jeanne and Gerald Paolilli of Chelmsford, MA; Peter Biron of Seattle, WA; Michelle Milisci and her long-term partner, Duane Gagnon of Milford, NH; Suzanne and Maurice Pontbriant of Tyngsboro, MA; Celeste and William Christo of Rye, NH; and Paul and Jennifer Biron of Litchfield, NH. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Cynthia, Tiffany, Nicole, Erin, Jena, Garrett, Jordan, Kelsey, Nicole, Angela, Rachel, Matthew, Sarah, Tyler, Anastasia, Alexandra and Brett; and her great-grandchildren, Elynore, Mariella, Alyssa, Alivia, Richard IV, Emery, Laila, Lily, Ella, and Jackson.

She was also the sister of Edward Coan of Lowell, MA and the late Lorriane Coan and Francis Coan.

Marie loved cooking and baking, spending time with (and bragging about) her children and grandchildren and attending church services at St. Michael Parish in Lowell, MA. Although she was somewhat of a homebody, Marie was known for her big heart and selfless desire to care for others (always before herself) and formed long-lasting and caring relationships with her neighbors, co-workers, and members of her parish.

Marie's family would like to thank the Inn at Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, New Hampshire for the wonderful care they provided prior to her passing.
