Lowell - Maria DeFatima (Vieira) Silva, beloved wife of Reinaldo L. Silva passed away at her Lowell residence surrounded by her family on Friday, October 1, 2021. She was 60.
Born in Terceira, Azores on July 5, 1961, she was a daughter of the late Salvador Dutra Vieira and the late Aurora Borges Ferreira.
Maria grew up and was educated in Terceira, Azores and immigrated to Lowell in 2005. She was employed in the food service department at Lowell High School until illness forced her retirement.
Maria and Reinaldo met at the Portuguese Club in Lowell and were married on February 14, 2007.
Surviving Maria besides Reinaldo, her husband of 14 years are her children Bruno Duarte of Terceira, Antonio Duarte, Joana Vieira, Catarina Vieira all of Lisbon, Portugal; two grand daughters, Alicia Duarte, Yasmin Vieira; sisters, Aurora Vieira of Spain, Ana Rocha of Tewksbury, Florencia Smith of Missouri, Coneiçao Vieira of Lowell; nieces, Ana Pacheco, Debra Sterling, Ana Christina Figueroa all of Lowell, Leslie Rocha Lauren of Tewksbury; mother in law Maria Silva of Terceira, Azores. She was the sister of the late Salvador Vieira, Mario Vieira, José Vieira and daughter in law of the late Jose Silva
Relatives and friends are invited to Maria's Life Celebration in the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street from 9 until 10:30 AM on Thursday. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM in St. Anthony Parish, 893 Central Street Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
