Maria C. Saozinha Godinho

Maria C. “Saozinha” Godinho, age 59, died on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal on February 23, 1963, and was a daughter of the late Emilia (Silva) and Antonio Godinho.

Maria loved music and dancing. She always enjoyed going down to the senior center and the Portuguese club. At home she also liked to knit and crochet.

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her brother, Paulo Godinho and his husband James Hunter of Lowell; her sister, Maria Camara and her husband Manuel of Lowell; her niece, Paula Clarimundo and her husband Victor of Tewksbury; her nephew, Rui Camara and his wife Meghan of Tyngsboro; her great-niece, Sophia Camara; her two great-nephews, Gabriel Camara and Vincent Clarimundo; her cousin, Manuel Silva and his wife Ana; her best friend, Guilhermina Picanco; as well as many other family and friends.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to her personal care assistants and friends, Raquel Silva and Maria Amarante for their loving care.

Relatives and friends are invited to Maria’s Life Celebration on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 9 until 11 AM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 PM in St. Anthony Church, Lowell. Burial to follow in Lowell Cemetery, Lowell.
