Marguerite M. (McCafferty) Montgomery

Marguerite M. (McCafferty) Montgomery, 88, a resident of Dracut, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015 at her daughter's home with her loving family by her side.
Born in Lowell on December 19, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Matthew P. McCafferty, Sr. and Agnes W. (Sullivan) McCafferty.
Marguerite attended Lowell Schools and later made her life as a homemaker, taking care of the family she loved so much. Whether it was Saturday afternoons when the grandchildren would meet at nana and grampa's for sandwiches on "nana bread", weekdays waiting for the "three boys" to get off the bus to spend the afternoon with her, or any gathering where all her great grandchildren were having fun, nana would just enjoy and tell everyone her "proud" stories. She always had stories and songs for everything! She was such a "people person" and loved meeting new people and becoming friends.
She was a parishioner of St. Michael Parish and when her children were in St. Michael School, was an active member of St. Dominic's Club.
She was married for over 60 years to the love of her life, the late Robert W. Montgomery, Sr. who passed away on March 19, 2008.
Marguerite is survived by one son, Robert W, Montgomery, Jr., and his wife Patricia (Whittaker); two daughters, Brenda Richardson and her husband Kevin and Carol-Ann Lake and her husband James; a son-in-law, Paul R. Couture; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer James and her husband Jef, Robert W. Montgomery, III and his wife Michelle, Kevin Richardson and his wife Melissa, Colleen Montgomery, Michael Couture and his wife Julie, Jeffrey Richardson and his wife Jennifer, Jo-Anne Castelo and her husband Jesse, Katherine Riley and her husband Michael, Nicole Couture and her fiancé Roger Rondeau, James, Jacen and Justyn Lake; ten great grandchildren, Michaela, Brady, Evelyn, Alex, Jack, Marguerite, Catherine, Lila, Michael and Brendan; two sisters, Frances Pellegrino and Grace Sweeney; a brother, Matthew P. McCafferty, Jr. and his wife Marguerite; sisters-in-law and friends, Isabel Posnak and Ruth Montgomery; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and friends.
Marguerite was predeceased by her daughter Jo-Ann Montgomery and her daughter Janice Couture who passed away on October 13, 2014, her sisters Mary Shultz and Virginia Pomerleau.
