Dracut - Mrs. Margaret M. (McCartin) Teague, formerly of Lowell and Westford, MA, while embraced by her loving family, completed her earthly passage on Tuesday, December 27th, in the peaceful surroundings of her home. Mrs. Teague was predeceased by her husband, Edward B. Teague, Jr., and two sons. A long time resident of Lowell, Mrs. Teague is survived by twelve children and their spouses: Peter and Maggie (Teague Gresco) Ginieres of Hampton, NH; Edward B. and Kathleen Teague of Yarmouthport, MA; Robert and Kathleen (Teague) Hartling of Virginia Beach, VA; Francis P. and Ruth Teague of Tewksbury, MA; Joseph and Anne (Teague) Travierso of Dracut, MA; James A. Teague of Lowell, MA; Joseph L. and Sandra Teague of Woburn, MA; Paul M. Teague of Hudson, NH; William and Monica (Teague) Nagle of Dracut, MA; Atty. Denis T. and Pearl Teague of Lowell, MA; Lawrence A. and Mary Ellen Teague of Tewksbury, MA; Kevin and Rosemary (Teague) Townshend of Lowell, MA.
Mrs. Teague leaves thirty-six grandchildren: Tracey and Allyson Gresco; Patrick, Shaelagh, and Michael Teague; Edward, Matthew, Kathleen (Teague) Murphy and Christian Teague; Kara (Hartling) Bennett, Meaghan and Katherine Hartling; Joshua, James, Stephen and Timothy Travierso; Alicia, Shelley, Jennifer and James Teague; Brian Teague; Erin, Kathleen and Amy Nagle; Nina (Teague) Vanderburg Kitty, Katie and Hannah Teague; Denis, Talin and Caroline Teague; Brianna, Lawrence, Beth and Paige Teague; Blake Townshend; and 23 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings: the Reverends Francis P. and Joseph T. McCartin, William T., James J., Robert A., John P., Mary A., and Anne (Loughran) McCartin, and is survived by Paul C., Philip, Dr. Lawrence M., and Norbert T. McCartin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Daughter of the late Frank P. and Margaret (Walsh) McCartin, Mrs. Teague attended Lowell's St. Patrick and Immaculate Conception schools and graduated Summa Cum Laude from D'Youville College, Buffalo, NY, with a B.A. in English Upon earning her postgraduate degree from Bentley College, Waltham, she was employed during World War II at Frank P. McCartin Electrical and Wholesale Supply in Lowell. Mrs. Teague was a Cub Scout den mother, a choir and sodality member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Lowell, and later St. Catherine's, Westford. She was an officer in the D'Youville College and Catholic College Clubs of Lowell, and the Zulu Missions Charity, and a founding member of the Long Sought For Pond Civic Association as well as various advocacy organizations. Upon moving to Dracut, Mrs. Teague became a communicant of St. Michael Church, Lowell. Her lifelong journey was anchored by her deep faith, her abiding love of family and friends, and her devotion to supporting "the less fortunate". Margaret's love of music will long be remembered by all who knew her, especially the numerous residents of local nursing homes with whom she joyfully shared her special gift.
