Rev. Marcel Bolduc, O.M.I., 98, died at Lowell, Massachusetts, on May 19, 2012. He was born in Trois Rivières, Québec, Canada, on December 31, 1913, the son of the late Victor Bolduc and Maralda (Blouin) Bolduc. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Antonio Bolduc and Samuel Bolduc, and a niece, Annette Parent.
Fr. Bolduc's undergraduate education was at St. Joseph College and Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, both in Canada. He received a Master's degree in theology from St. Joseph Scholasticate in Canada, a Master's degree in French language and literature from Assumption College, Worcester, Massachusetts, and a Master's degree in French literature from the University of Montréal, Canada. He was ordained a priest in the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on June 24, 1939.
Fr. Bolduc was a missionary in Haiti from 1944 to 1956. After coming to the United States, he taught in Oblate seminaries in Maine and Massachusetts from 1956 to 1971. He worked as a retreat master and superior at the Oblate Retreat House in Augusta, Maine, from 1971 to 1997. He was on the staff of St. Joseph the Worker Shrine in Lowell until he retired in 2005, whereupon he came to live at the Oblate Residence in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.
Fr. Bolduc is survived by two nephews, Marcel Bolduc, of Trois Rivières, Québec, Canada, and Gilles Bolduc, Fabreville Laval, Québec, Canada.
