Madeleine M. (Lambert) Lafontaine
Dracut- Madeleine M. (Lambert) Lafontaine, 87, mother of 12 children and widow of Omer Lafontaine died Tuesday, November 16 after a brief illness.
Born in Lowell on January 8, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Gabrielle (Ladebauche) Lambert. She was a lifelong member of St. Louis de France Parish having been active in the Sodality and St. Louis Women's Guild of that Parish. Mrs Lafontaine was a member of the League of Catholic Women and the Dracut Senior Citizens' Club. She was a Senior Companion with CTI for over 20 years and volunteered each year for the Lowell Folk Festival.
Surviving her are six sons; Roger Lafontaine of Long Beach, CA, Ronald and his wife Carolyn of York Beach, ME, Richard and his wife Pauline of Dracut, Raynard and his wife Carol of Dracut, Russell and his wife Cynthia of Deltona, FL, Rene Lafontaine and his friend Carol Ferreira of Dracut,six daughters; Janine Lafontaine and her friend Philip Lepine of Nashua, Denise Tetreault and her husband Robert of Nashua, Charlene Cohan and her husband Richard of Lowell, Carolyn Lafontaine and her husband William Kotopoulis of Nashua, Marie Wasylak and her husband Richard and Michelle Fearon and her husband Dennis, all of Dracut, a brother, Harry Lambert of Dracut, five sisters, Gilberte Perrault of Dracut, Pauline Zolkos of Orange City, FL, Claire Ouellette of Orlando, FL, Rita Gouveia of Dracut and Marguerite Gouveia of Lady Lake, FL,also 28 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
