M. Janet Rousseau

December 23, 1926 — February 1, 2014

M. Janet Rousseau, 87, of Berlin, MA formerly of Pelham, NH, Dracut and Lowell, MA died peacefully February 1, 2014 surrounded by family.
Born on December 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Richard J. and Alice L. (O'Brien) Fitzgerald and grew up in Arlington, MA. Janet was the loving wife of the late Joseph L. Rousseau with whom she was married for 44 years. Together they were the best role models for their five children.
Janet trained as a Cadet Registered Nurse and graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, Lowell in 1947. Janet was passionate about her nursing career and worked at several hospitals, private duty homes, the Dracut School System as well as the Greater Lowell Regional Vocational Technical High School as a school nurse and student instructor.
Janet especially loved to entertain and hosted many parties at her home with her husband, children and grandchildren. Her favorite celebrations were Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. Another passion of Janet's was traveling; she always had her bags packed ready to go. She enjoyed visiting the mountains, but especially vacations at the Cape, Vineyard and local beaches with her family and friends.
Surviving Janet are two sons, Richard Rousseau and his wife Gail (Lafleur) of Franklin, NH and David Rousseau and his wife Kristin (Walker) of Henniker, NH, three daughters Pamela Rousseau and her husband Robert Rondeau of Berlin, MA, Tracy Nadeau and her husband Norman of Lowell, MA, and Jan Rousseau and her husband Mark Conway of Pelham, NH. She also leaves her grandchildren Mist Rousseau, Joseph Rondeau, Elisabeth and Quinn Rousseau, Justin, Corey and Logan Nadeau, and Brenna Mae Conway. Janet also leaves her sisters-in-law Claire (Rousseau) Panazuk, Esther Rousseau, Rosemary Boucher and Lorraine Rybczyk, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Janet is predeceased by her siblings Gloria Beaudoin, Richard Fitzgerald, Mildred Gelinas and Anne Louise Canniff.
