LOWELL - Lucille I. (Perry) Bergeron, age 91, a longtime resident of Lowell passed unexpectedly Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the D’Youville Center for Advanced Therapy in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Camil D. Bergeron who passed in 2010.
She was born in Lawrence on May 4, 1931 and was the daughter of the Henry B. and Irene B. (Boucher) Perry. She was a graduate of Methuen High School.
Lucille spent her life tending to the needs of her family and home. One of her favorite past times was cooking some of her special meals for her family and then sending extra servings home to be enjoyed later.
She was an accomplished seamstress and cake decorator. She often made clothing for her children and grandchildren. She was also an avid reader and shared her love for literature by reading aloud to her grandchildren whenever possible.
Lucille enjoyed vacationing on Cape Cod. She loved going for weeklong trips with her daughter, Denise, in the summer, with her husband, Camil, in the Fall and the special “girl’s” weekend in October with her two daughters and her granddaughter, Erinn. Her favorite activities included walking on the many beaches and trails, browsing through the bookshops and sampling homemade ice cream from as many different shops as she could find.
She loved animals and could often be found, before the pandemic, visiting the many animals at the MSPCA at Nevins Farm in Methuen. She loved visiting the dogs the most.
Her greatest joy, however, was spending time in the company of her loving family.
Lucille is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Denise L. Bergeron, of Lowell and with whom she resided and Diane M. McLaughlin and her husband Andy, with whom Lucille shared a special bond and whom she had a great affection for; her son, David J. Bergeron and his wife Beth of Rockport, IN; seven grandchildren, Adam McLaughlin and his spouse Sara Codair of Merrimac, Erinn McLaughlin of Lowell and her fiancé James Toohey, Melissa Wilkinson and her husband Shaun of Newburyport, David Bergeron and his wife Heather of Henniker, NH, Daniel Bergeron and his wife Brianne of Dracut, Nicholas Bergeron and his wife Jenna of Hudson, MA and Samantha Edgecomb and her husband Michael of Tyngsboro; fourteen great grandchildren; her brother-in-law, James Baril of Haverhill; and several nieces.
She was also the sister of the late Leslie Ann Baril.
