Lucien H. Loiselle

Dracut - Rev. Lucien H. Loiselle, 84, retired Pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Dracut died Monday morning at a local nursing home following an extended illness.
He was born in Lowell on September 26, 1920 a son of the late Herve J. Loiselle, Sr. and the late Germaine (Mitron) Loiselle.
Fr. Loiselle, attended Ste. Jeanne d'Arc School, Lowell High School and Lowell Technical College studied at St. John's Seminary in Brighton and was ordained into the priesthood in the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, by Richard Cardinal Cushing on May 4, 1949.
His first parocial assignment was at St. John the Baptist in Lynn, then Sacred Heart in Amesbury, St. Mary in Marlborough, St. Joseph in Salem. Fr. Loiselle returned to St. Mary in Marborough as Associate Pastor. On August 16, 1977 Fr. Loiselle was named Pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption in Dracut where he served until his retirement in 2001. He was currently the Senior Priest assisting with parish duties at Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut.
Fr. Loiselle was currently active with the Home Schoolers Group. His many friends will also recall his talent interpreting the Big Band music on the piano
Survivors include a brother and sister in law, Herve' J. and Estelle Loiselle of Nashua; a sister, Sr. Germaine Loiselle, SND of Ipswich; a nephew Pierre Loiselle of North Carolina; a niece Monique Garrell of Pelham, NH; a grand nephew Daniel Bishop of Pelham, NH; two grand nieces Kristen and Beth Loiselle of California.
