Lucia J. Rosa

Lucia J. (Pereira) Rosa, age 84, died on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital following a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Manuel E. Rosa with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.

She was born in Faial, Azores, Portugal on December 20, 1938, and was a daughter of the late Maria da Gloria Pereira and Manuel F. Pereira.

Lucia enjoyed knitting, crochet and embroidery. She made many beautiful pieces for family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking Portuguese food for her family The most important thing to her was her family and the many joyous gatherings they held as a family.

In addition to her husband Manuel, Lucia is survived and will be deeply missed by her two children, Manuel E. Rosa Jr. and his wife Maria C. of Lowell and Jose Rosa and his wife Martinha of Tewksbury; her three grandchildren, Scottie Rosa, Carson Rosa and Sarina Rosa; her 2 great-grandchildren, Aubriell and Andrew Rosa; her good friend, Maria Fagundes and her family; as well as many brother-in-law’s, sister-in-law’s, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was the sister of the late Maria Angela Melo and her husband Serafim and Manuel Pereira and his wife Harriet.

The family would like to thank the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care of Lowell, Blaire House and the Road Runner drivers who all took very good care of her.

Relatives and friends are invited to Lucia’s Life Celebration on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 9 AM until 11 AM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 PM in St. Anthony Church, Lowell. Burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
