Louise J. (Leonard) Osborn, age 101, a Lowell resident, died on June 11, 2026, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late George R. Osborn, Jr., who died in November of 2016, after celebrating 65 years of marriage.
A lifelong resident of Lowell, Louise was the daughter of the late Hugh P. and Kathleen M. (Brosnan) Leonard, both of whom immigrated from Ireland. She was born on October 19, 1924 and was educated in the local schools, graduating from St. Michael’s Grammar School, Lowell High School, Class of 1942 and Lowell Commercial College.
Before her marriage, Louise was employed by the Department of the US Navy in Boston for three years as an administrative assistant and later by Digital Equipment Corporation in Chelmsford.
She was a long-time communicant of St. Margaret of Scotland Parish in Lowell and was a 55 year officer and board member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. She was also a member of the St. Clare’s Guild and the former Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
In retirement, Louise and George spent many years of travel to Lourdes, France and other European countries. Louise cherished her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Over the years she enjoyed spending time with family at her son’s home on Lake Winnipesaukee and 20 winters in Venice, Florida.
She is survived by her three sons, Stephen G. Osborn (Paula) of Lowell, Michael J. Osborn (Janet) of Shrewsbury and John T. Osborn (James) of Merrimack, NH; her ten grandchildren, Christopher (Ashley), Brent (Parker), Cara Wry, Keith (Abby), Timothy (Kaila), Brian, Nathan (Emily), Julia Spence (Ben), Amanda, and Jenna; her nine great-grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Addison, Jackson, Lucas, Colin, Owen, Margaret, and Rebecca, all of whom she loved dearly.
Louise was the mother of the late David F. Osborn, who died in September of 2016 and was the sister of the late Mary E. Leonard and James F. Leonard.
The Osborn Family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at The Courville of Nashua - Aynsley Place for the loving care, comfort and dignity they provided to our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother during her time there. Louise loved each and every staff member and we are all grateful for all the extra attention they brought to make her part of the Courville family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Louise’s Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 10 AM in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Lowell.
