Louise A. (Pierce) Metivier, 87, of Lawrence, died Wednesday December 8, 2010 at the Lawrence General Hospital after a period of declining health. She was the widow of Joseph R. Metivier who died in 2001.
Born in Worcester on December 17, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Waldo N. and Hazel M. (Spinney) Pierce.
Louise was employed by Raytheon Corp where she was a dedicated and hard worker for more than twenty years.
Louise had the most flourishing flower and vegetable gardens at her home, where she loved to be. She was an animal lover and was especially partial to dogs. She was very kind to her family and neighbors and will forever be remembered by them for making the most delicious peanut butter fudge that so many looked forward to receiving.
Survivors include a daughter, June Sylvester and her husband, Daniel of Lawrence; a brother, Waldo N. Pierce, Jr. of Paxton; a sister, Nellie Harrington of Grafton; two granddaughters, Nickey Sylvester of Lowell and Kimberly Nichols and her husband, Michael of Ashland; two great grandsons, Ethan Michael Nichols and Noah Daniel Sylvester. She was the sister of the late Eugene Pierce and Charlotte Ahern.
