Louise M. (Cassista) Berard

Louise M. (Cassista) Berard's life was always centered around her family. They were with her when she passed on Saturday June 20, 2015. She was 68.

Louise was born in Lowell on December 10, 1946, a daughter of the late Dr. Alphee and Gabrielle (Hamelin) Cassista.

In 1966 she married the love of her life Donald J. Berard. Together they embarked on an adventurous journey. They lived in Dracut for many years prior to moving to Salem, NH several years ago. Louise had an entrepreneurial spirit that led her to many different arenas in the business world. A photographer at heart, she owned and operated the former Creative Images Photography Studio in Lawrence for many years.
Louise also had a passion for sewing, and relished the time she spent teaching her grandchildren sewing, knitting and her endless love of crafting.
Children were her life. She was known as the neighborhood mom. Louise had hot dog, sno-cone, and pop corn machines that she would regularly use when her yard was filled with children.
Louise welcomed anyone and everyone to her house. She loved entertaining, and just being with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were her life.
Louise also loved the quiet time cruising Arlington Pond on her pontoon boat.
Surviving her besides her husband Donald are her eleven children and their spouses, Stacey and Paul Ireson of Dracut, David Berard of Salem, NH, Michelle Berard of Lawrence, Daniel Berard and Valerie Lloyd of Dracut, William and Kimberly Berard of Freemont, NH, Deborah Berard of Hudson, NH, Kathleen and Christopher Marconi of Salem, NH, Kelly Berard of Fayetteville, NC, Gail Berard of Lowell, Nathan and Karen Berard of Salem, NH, Thomas Berard and Katrina Therrien of Greenfield, NH; 25 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, sisters, sisters in law, brothers in law, Alphee Casissta, Jr. and Cindy of Lowell, Denise Berard and Kenneth Marsh of Haverhill, Dr. Gerard and Dr. Lorraine Cassista of Dracut, Jeannine and Richard Loiselle of Dracut, Philip and Susan Cassista of Chester, NH; and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by several in laws, extended family and friends. Louise was also the mother of the late infant Billy Berard.
