Louis E. Warsnip

August 2, 1943 — June 24, 2015

LOWELL - Louis E. Warsnip, Sr., 71, a long time resident of the Christian Hill area of the city, lost a brave fight against cancer Wednesday morning.

Born in Lowell August 2, 1943, he was the son of the late Winifred M. Worsnip and Luigi E. DeLuca. Mr. Warsnip had been married to MaryEllen R. (Ritchotte) Warsnip for 44 happy years prior to her death in 2011.

Prior to his retirement, Louie was a manager for Sears Roebuck & Company from 1963 to 2005, in various parts departments, including North Andover, Allston and Salem, NH. Mr. Warsnip enjoyed his co-workers and duties. So much so in fact, he returned to the parts department for Sears in Hudson, NH in 2011 part-time.

Louie was loyal and dedicated to numerous causes. He chaperoned many field trips whilst his children attended St. Michael's School. As a member of the Friends of Lowell High School he served two terms as Co President of the organization with his wife. Louie was also extremely involved and active with "The Spindles", the show choir troup from the Performing Arts Department at Lowell High School and both steered and supported them on their quest to winning championships. He was active in the Parish of St. Michael Church and was a member of The East End Club of Lowell. Louie loved his family and his cats.

He is survived by his children, Angela Warsnip and her husband, Robert O'Donnell of Milford, NH; his daughter, Stefanie Warsnip of Franconia, NH; his son, "Sparky" Warsnip of Lowell. He was also know as Grandpa to his older grandson Joshua Peno of Colorado Springs, CO and as "GiGi" to his younger grandson, his shadow, Louis E. "Tripp" Warsnip, III.

Mr. Warsnip is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Melissa Nikolaides of Dedham, MA; sisters-in-law, Anne M. Ritchotte and her husband, Thomas Kozak of Colorado Springs, CO and Katherine Ritchotte of Nashua, NH; a brother-in-law, Francis P. Ritchotte and his wife, Bernadette of Auburn, NH; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
