DERRY, NH- Louis Laurent, 62, passed away on June 4, 2021 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with liver cancer. He was the beloved husband of
Joselyne M. (Laforge) Laurent, to whom he was married for 31 years. Louis was the son of the late Albert Joseph and Aline Marie (Berard) Laurent. Louis attended St. Louis Grammar School and Dracut Public Schools.

Prior to his retirement, Louis was employed as the general manager / vice president at Soucy Industries in Pelham, NH for 27 years.

A strong man with a big heart, family was everything to Louis. He was always available for any help or support that others needed. He was a conscientious worker; a man of his word. Louis' love of life and fun radiated through his personality. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, golfing and four wheeling throughout New England, especially in Colebrook, NH. He enjoyed spending time with his faithful Chocolate Lab, Dallas. Louis will best be remembered for his selfless acts, his generosity, his quick wit and love of family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Louis is survived by his two sons, Albert and Christopher Laurent, both of Derry, NH; two brothers, Marc Laurent and his wife Laurie of Nashua, and David Laurent and his wife Tammy of Dracut; eight sisters, Denise Dion and her husband Paul of Haverhill, Collette D'Amour and her husband Richard of Pelham, Michelle Maillet and her husband George of Lowell, Suzanne Brunelle and her husband Louis of Sandwich, Dianne Chandonnet and her husband Roland of Pelham, Priscille Tuson of Lawrence, Jeanne Davis and her husband Richard of Pelham, Jackie Quinn and her husband Michael of Lawrence, a brother–in-law, Peter Blatus of Dracut, his mother-in-law Irene Laforge and 4 sisters-in-law Denise Tabor, Linda Frizzell and her husband Alan, Elaine Fournier and her husband Jim all of Salem, and Tina Heaney and her husband Gary of Methuen. Dear friends Dennis and Brenda Mercier of Lowell and Will and Renee Soucy of Chelmsford; and many nieces and nephews.

Louis was also the brother of the late Karen Laurent Blatus (Whom he'll be happy to see as she still owes him $25.00) and the uncle of the late Jennifer D'Amour.

Special thanks to his niece Angalee Romano for all the special care and support during this trying time.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend Louis' celebration of life at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell, MA on Wednesday, June 9th from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. His funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 10th at 11:30am at the funeral home. Committal prayers will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louis' memory to the Jennifer D'Amour Scholarship Fund c/o UMass Lowell Athletic Dept. 275 Riverside Street, Lowell, MA 01854.
