Louis A. Jean

January 20, 1925 — March 30, 2013

Louis Amedee Jean, 88, passed away peacefully at Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus on March 30, surrounded by a loving family that he dearly loved. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen Rita (Durand) Jean to whom he was married to for 52 years.
Louis was born in Lowell on January 20th 1925, son of the late Hector and the late Cecile (Trudel) Jean. His early life was spent in Lowell where he attended St. Joseph Grammar and St. Joseph High School. He later attended Bradshaw Business School, Lowell, MA. - And having completed the Accounting Course received his Diploma on March 17, 1955.
He was a very pious Catholic man and attended daily Mass for many years until illness prevented it. He served as a Eucharistic Minister, Altar Server and Usher at Saint Therese Church in Dracut now known as Saint Marguerite D'Youville. He was elected as President of Saint Therese Men's club for two terms.

He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War from July 1943 to 1946 as a radioman 3rd class and then from Feb. 1948 to Feb. of 1953. He was involved in the D-Day Invasion at Normandy, France and helped established radio communications in Cherbourg, France. Some ships he served on were the USS Bordelon DD881, USS Boston CA69, USS Canisteo A099 and the USS CHIPOLA A063. He received the following medals: World War II Victory Medal American Area, European- African Area 1 Star Asiatic Pacific Area.
In addition to his late wife he was pre-deceased by his son Louis Jean and their five infants, his brothers Earnest Jean and Marcel Jean, his sisters Doris Durand and Therese Lambert, his sister-in-laws Patrice Jean, Shirley Jean, his brother-in-laws Andrew Marion, David Finney and David Lambert.

Louis leaves his daughter Madeleine Enzian , his son-in-law Clyde Enzian who was also his best friend, his two grandchildren Thomas Enzian and his wife Cathy Whalen and his former wife Mary Enzian, Cheryl Morrow and her husband Jim, his great-grandchildren Curtis, Tyler, Andrew Morrow and Eric Enzian, his brothers Albert Jean, Leon Jean and his wife Pauline, Armand Jean and his wife Lucy, Martin Jean and his wife Carole, his sisters Laurette Marion, Aline Finney, Gertrude Cohen and her husband Gerry. He also leaves many nieces ,nephews and cousins.
