Lorraine (Grimard) Wahlgren, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, beloved wife of Raymond Wahlgren with whom she spent 52 years of marriage, died on Monday, September 5, 2016 following a brief illness. She was 81.
She was born in Lowell on December 1, 1934 a daughter of the late Rene Grimard and the late Noella (Germain) Murphy.
Lorraine grew up in Lowell and prior to her retirement she worked in paper production for Middlesex Paper Tube Company.
She enjoyed bowling and played in the Brunswick league with her sister Carole for many years. Lorraine was fond of card games, looked forward to dining out, but most of all had a passion for travel. Some of her favorite places were New Orleans, Disney, Quebec City, Canada, and Jamaica where she and Ray adopted a family. They would send them care packages and would speak with them several times a year.
Surviving he besides her husband Ray is a sister and brother in law, Carole and Richard Mireault of Lowell; brothers in law, Richard Wahlgren of FL, Charles Wahlgren of Methuen; several nieces and nephews including, Renee and Scott Waterhouse of Westford, Erik and Kathy Mireault of Lowell.
