DRACUT - Lorraine Mae (Hardman) Monahan, age 69, a longtime resident of Dracut, died Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Massachusetts General Hospital following a long courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Robert M. Monahan, to whom she was married for 47 years.
She was born in Lowell on April 7, 1949, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Beatrice (Coutu) Hardman. She received her education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1966.
Prior to her retirement, Lorraine was employed for many years as a secretary by the Internal Revenue Service in Andover.
In her free time, she enjoyed trips to Foxwoods Casino and going out to lunch and shopping with friends.
In addition to her husband, Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Kimberley Monahan of Dracut; her son and daughter-in-law, William and Kimberly Monahan of Dracut; her granddaughter, Ashley Monahan; three brothers, Edward Rousseau of FL, Roland Rousseau of FL, and Richard Rousseau of CO; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was also the sister of the late Kenneth Rousseau.
ARRANGEMENTS - Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lorraine's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Church in Dracut. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorraine's memory to Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, 55 Fruit St, Boston, MA 02114.
