Lorraine L. (Laferriere) Mellen

DRACUT - Lorraine L. (Laferriere) Mellen, age 81, a resident of Dracut died Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Northwood Rehab in Lowell.

She was born in Lowell on March 22, 1940, and was a daughter of the late Lionel and Lillian (Theriault) Laferriere. She received her education in Lowell school.

Lorraine was a longtime volunteer at the Lowell Senior Center and the Salvation Army in Lowell.

She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed spending time in the company of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lorraine is survived by her sons, Roland Saucier and his wife Lori of Pepperell and Frank Saucier and his wife Lynda of Wilton, NH; daughters, Valerie Jordan and her husband Jonathan of Hudson, NH, and three daughters from a previous marriage; seven grandchildren, RJ, Stephen, Justin, Chrystyan, Natashia, Samantha, and KJ; four great grandchildren, Rylan, Owen, Haylie, and Evelyn; a brother, Maurice Laferriere of NJ; a sister, Jeannine Dusombré of Stoneham; a sister-in-law, Joanne Laferriere of NH; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Robert Laferriere, Jacqueline Gauthier, Claudette Silva, and Constance Sullivan.

Lorraine's family would like to thank the staff of Northwood Rehab for the care and compassion that they gave to her during her stay.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lorraine's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Friday from 10:00am until 12:00pm followed by a Life Celebration Meal for family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lorraine's memory to the Alzheimer's Association of MA, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.
