Lowell - Lionel D. Cluette, widower of Helen B. (Bukowski), a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Wednesday January 20, 2010, at a local nursing home following a period of declining health. He was 85.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on July 20, 1924, he was a son of the late Felix and Regina (Lavoie) Clouette.
Lionel was a WWII veteran having served in the Army and attaining the rank of Corporal.
Prior to his retirement he was employed as a machinist with the Farnsworth Company in Lowell.
Lionel was very handy and was able to repair anything his family fondly remembers, he also made planes, helicopters, sailboats and cars from scrap metal for family members. Most of all he cherished time spent with his family and looked forward to their annual bowling adventure on Thanksgiving Day.
Survivors include three sisters in law, Blanche Award of Warren Sophie Cluette of Lowell, Grace Bukowski of Newton, NH; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Leo, Edgar, Yvonne Mundy, Yvette Marcotte, and Dolores Hanson.
