Linda (Mello) Veillette, age 75, of Pepperell MA, lost her battle with cancer at Lowell General Hospital on November 12, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Robert Veillette also of Pepperell MA.
Linda was born in Lowell MA on March 2, 1943, She was a daughter to the late Antonio and Verner (Dailey) Mello. She was raised and educated in Lowell MA and recieved her high school diploma.
Besides her husband Bob, Linda is survived and will be deeply missed by her sisters, Marie (Mello) Sylvester and her husband Dewie Sylvester, Verner (Mello) Thamer and Elaine (Mello) Couillard, her children, Lisa Davey and her partner Rick Nicolosi, Frederick Cross and his life partner Mary Metcalf, John Cross Sr. and his wife Connie Cross, Ralph Cross and his wife Georgianna Cross, Edward Cross and his wife Sandra Cross and Brian Cross Sr. and his life partner Gail Thresher, many nieces and nephews, 27 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Linda was pre-deceased by her son Bobby Veillette, former husband Frederick L. Cross and her cherished dog Coco
Linda was a very caring, generous and kind hearted woman. She generously donated to many charities including The National Cancer Reserach Center, The National Police Association and The National Diabetes Association just to name a few. She kindly and compassionately worked as a CNA for many years. She recently retired from River Court Assisted Living as a dietary aide.
Linda loved to spend time with her family, always sharing her recipes, playing cards and dancing. She also enjoyed carnival rides and as an avid animal lover, she took great joy in her cat, Callie.Her hobbies included baking, knitting, crocheting and sewing. On Sundays you could find her walking around flea markets with her husband Bob.
Linda touched a lot of hearts with her compassionate nature, her smile that lit up the room and her wonderful laugh. She will be dearly missed by many.
