Linda J. (Quartarone) D'Amato, beloved wife of Joseph D'Amato passed away at her Salem, NH residence on Monday, January 15, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was 76.
Born in Boston on August 13, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Madeline (Dalia) Quartarone.
Linda grew up in the Hyde Park section of Boston and moved to Somerville as a teenager. In 1963, she and Joe were set up on a blind date. This past August they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.
Linda retired from MIT where she did payroll in the finance department. Upon retirement Joe and Linda enjoyed traveling, and looked forward to the many places they visited.
Eight years ago they moved to the Braemoor Woods community and embraced all of the activities there. She helped with the social committee and also called the bingo games at the Salem Senior Center. Most of all Linda loved to be around her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is also survived by her three children and their spouses, Joe D'Amato of Derry, NH, Lori and Tom Aquavella of Billerica, Rob and Tricia D'Amato of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Megan, John, and Charlie Aquavella, Ryan, Molly, Mallory, and Maddie D'Amato; three sisters, Marie Quartarone of Palm Coast, Fl, Ann DiVirgilio of Weymouth, Ruth Trudel of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Joseph Quartarone.
Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 2 until 5 PM, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 10:30 AM, at Saints Mary and Joseph Parish: Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Rd, Salem, NH 03079. Entombment will follow in St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Mausoleum, Methuen. In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda's memory may be made to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, Attn: Cancer Center, Office of Philanthropy, 41 Mall Rd, Burlington, MA 01805
