Lillian (Ciesla) Touzin, widow of Romeo Touzin, a resident of the Pawtucketville section of the city, passed away at her daughters residence on Monday, February 27, 2017, following a period of declining health. She was 87.
She was born in Lowell on June 16, 1929, a daughter of the late Edward and Aldea (Dufresne) Ciesla.
Lillian grew up in Dracut and she and Romeo lived in Lowell for many years. She was a communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Parish, and most recently St. Rita Parish.
With a fondness for children, she looked forward to working in the cafeteria at the Bartlett School for numerous years.
Lillian loved the outdoors. Whether it was working in the yard, tending to her vegetable or flower garden, or visiting Hampton Beach, she was happiest outside.
Family was paramount to Lillian. She cherished being a mother and always being there for her children. They recall with great fondness their trips to the beach, sledding, and ice skating with mom.
Survivors include her four children and spouses, Doris Frechette of Lowell, Joanne and Paul Lacroix of Litchfield, NH, Carol and Thomas Gouveia of Dracut, Linda Dagoumas of Haverhill; nine grandchildren, Kenneth Frechette, Johnathan Frechette, Stephanie Dagoumas, Nicholas Dagoumas, Christina Soucy, Daniel Touzin, Lauren Touzin, Jessica Lacroix, Andrew Lacroix; three great grandchildren, Nicholas Dagoumas, Jr., Alec Dagoumas, Carter Soucy; a sister, Betty Lagasse of Methuen; two brothers, Andrew Ciesla of Chelmsford, Richard Ciesla of Lowell; her lifelong friend Charles Lefebvre of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Roger J. Touzin, and sister of the late Edward Ciesla, Walter Ciesla and Doris Gendreau.
