Obituary - Lillian M. Callahan
Windham, NH - Lillian M. (Murphy) Callahan, 92, widow of George W. Callahan, a Windham, NH resident, formerly of Dracut, died unexpectedly, Sunday January 1, at her residence.
She was born in Lowell on December 20, 1913, a daughter of the late Laurence F. and Elizabeth R. (Madigan) Murphy.
While residing in Dracut Mrs. Callahan and her husband were the owners and operators of Calico Farm in Dracut. She was also a teacher at the Greenmont Avenue School in Dracut. She was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church in Windham, and a member of the Martha and Mary group there. Other memberships include the Retired Teachers Association and the Windham, NH Senior Citizens Club. She was also a volunteer at the Nesmith Library, Windham, NH.
Mrs. Callahan is survived by a son and daughter in law, Lawrence W. and Judy Callahan of Minequa, WS; five daughters and two sons in law, Elizabeth A. Silva of Lowell, Margaret L. and Richard Rose of Maine, Roberta L. and John Golden of Windham, NH, Cynthia F. Langton of Pelham, NH and Martha P. Callahan of Beverly; a sister and brother in law, Andrea P. and John W. Walsh of Medford; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Martin J. Callahan, grandmother of the late Robin E. Silva, mother in law of the late Joseph Roger Langton, and sister of the late Laurence Murphy.
