Leopold E. Stec

Leopold E. Stec, of Lowell, 86, beloved husband of the late Catherine "Kay" Laura (Silveria) Stec, died Friday February 20, 2009 at his home. He was born in Lowell on October 18, 1922, and was a son of the late Kazimierz and Anna (Kubit) Stec. He was a lifelong resident of the Centerville section of the city. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Fire Controlman. He worked as a Correction Officer at MCI Concord until his retirement in 1982.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an active member of St. Michael's Parish for many years. He was a charter member of the Polish American Veterans Club in Lowell and a Past President of the local chapter of the Ostomy Association.

Survivors include four sons and two daughters: Carolyn Schultz and her husband Paul of Allen, TX; Leona Stec and her partner Donna Marcinek of Clinton, CT; Leo Stec and his wife Nancy of Glenview IL; Richard Stec and his wife Linda of Summerville, SC; Robert Stec and his wife Victoria of Aurora, CO; Michael Stec and his wife Jill of Dracut, MA; and his son-in-law Richard MacDonald of Reading, MA. He was a loving "Jaju" (grandfather) to Christopher, Jennifer and Elizabeth Schultz, Sarah and Katie L. Stec, Melanie and Robert Stec Jr., Kathleen MacDonald, Jacob, Allison and Timothy Stec and Alicia Stec. He was the loving father of the late MaryAnn MacDonald of Reading, MA.
He is also survived by his brother Frederick Stec and his wife Connie, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was a brother of the late � Kazima, Janina, Edward, and Mitchell Stec.
