DRACUT - Leon J. "Bucky" Swiniarski, 73, a longtime resident of Dracut died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at his home.
He was born in Lowell on October 10, 1943, and was the son of the late Joseph L. and Rita A. (Perrault) Swiniarski. He received his education in Dracut schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School.
Prior to his retirement, Bucky was employed for many years as gas tanker driver by Exxon. Following his retirement he owned and operated a weights and measures business called Buckets Meter Service.
Bucky was a car fanatic, both collecting and fixing them. He also loved to watch and attend NASCAR and antique car races and was a member of the New England Antique Racers.
He is surived by his sister, Jeanne Girolamo of Woburn; his niece, Lynne Chisholm and her husband Robert of Mont Vernon, NH; two nephews, Scott Girolamo and his wife Linda of Woburn and Mark Girolamo and his wife Joy of Aurora, IL; six great nieces and nephews, Julie, Ryan, Megan, Hannah, Alexis, and Nicholas, and a dear friend, Kathleen Graham of Dracut.
