LOWELL – Leo F. Nowak, 81, a resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, died Friday, September 16, 2016 at a local healthcare facility with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Freeman) Nowak with whom he was married for 54 years.
Born in Lowell on November 3, 1934, he was a son of the late Leo F. and Viola V. (Jankowski) Nowak.
Leo served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Nowak was employed by the Raytheon Corp., both in the South Lowell and Andover offices. He was a member of the IBEW Local 1505.
He also belonged to the Raytheon Bowling and Golf Leagues. He enjoyed traveling to numerous destinations especially the trips to Hawaii, Bermuda and Ireland.
Mr. Nowak was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots games.
In addition to his wife Carol he is survived by two sons, Brian E. Nowak and his wife Stacey (Finger) of Litchfield, NH and David A. Nowak of Lowell; a daughter, Debra A. Forman and her husband Anthony of Fuquay Varina, NC; four grandchildren, Kelsey and Shane Nowak and Kayleigh and Taylor Forman.
