Leo J. Elie

Leo J. Elie, a Dracut resident, died Monday December 1, 2008 at a local nursing home. He was 85.
He was born in Lowell on March 4, 1923, a son of the late John F. and Marie (Hebert) Elie.
Prior to his retirement Leo was employed as a cook at various local restaurants. In earlier years he worked for his father at the former Golden Dairy.
He was a communicant of the former Ste. Therese Church, and was a member of the Dracut Senior Citizen's Club.
Survivors include his very dear friend, Doris M. Donnelly of Dracut; two sons, Joseph Marcel Elie of Largo, FL, Francis L. Elie of Lowell; a daughter and son in law, Carmen and Leo Fitzgerald of Chelmsford; a brother Ludger Elie of Lowell; a sister Yvette Beaudry of Dracut; two grandchildren, Michelle Barry and John F. Elie II; two great grandchildren, David and Madeline Elie; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Frederick Elie, Raymond Elie, Irene Ducharme, Henry Elie, Gerard Elie, Theresa Gagnon, and Arthur Elie.
