Lena L. Spano

DRACUT - Lena L. (Locapo) Spano, 94, a longtime resident of Dracut, died Friday, June 1, 2007 at Saints Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Gaetano "Danny" Spano.
She was born in West Chelmsford on June 25, 1912 a daughter of the late Joseph and Caterina (Vitucci) Locapo and was one of eleven children.
She was educated in Chelmsford Schools.
She was a communicant of St. Michael Church. Lena was a religious woman and very generous who loved to cook, knit, garden and make puzzles. She will be sadly missed.
In 1961, Mrs. Spano adopted her nephew, Massimo Dell'Aversano Locapo as her legal son with whom she resided.
In addition to her son she is survived by her grandchildren, Carmelina Cestrone and her husband Albert of Seabrook, NH, Louisa Bailey and her husband Mark of Pelham, NH and John Locapo and his fianc�e Cathy Nicolls of Dracut; four great grandchildren, Amanda, Alexa and Ava Cestrone and Kaitlyn Bailey; three sisters, Eva Ouellette , Elia Gonyer and Elda Lafleur of; a brother, Elias Locapo of; She also leaves her favorite niece, Carol Ann Hayton , also many other nieces and nephews.
