Dracut – Lawrence D. “Larry” Fergerson, the beloved husband of Elizabeth “Betty” (Malone) Stadtman-Fergerson, died Saturday March 26, 2011 at his Dracut Residence following a brief illness. He was 76.
Larry was born on April 10, 1934 in Brunswick, Maine, but had resided in the greater Lowell area for many years.
Upon graduation from high school Larry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Following his completion of duty he came home and worked for many years as a social worker. Larry worked for numerous years with substance abuse patients in local prisons and and halfway houses. Larry retired as a social worker with the Julie House in Lowell.
Larry and Betty enjoyed lighthouse collectables. They looked forward to their two week vacation to Bailey Island Maine every year.
He was an avid Notre Dame Sports fan and could be found in front of his television every Saturday during football season with his cat and friend Bailey.
Surviving him besides his wife are a daughter and son in law, Robyn and Howard Meister of Cedar Rapids, IA; a step daughter and stepson in law, Julie and Warren Belley of Nashua, NH; a stepson and step daughter in law, Doug and April Stadtman of Lowell; three sisters, Marie Walk of Doylestown, PA, Fern Burch of Bath, ME, Gertrude Hibner of Trevose, PA; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the husband of the late Frances A. (Sokloski) Fergerson and brother of the late Joseph.
