Lawrence F. “Larry” Harding, age 64, a life-long resident of Lowell died unexpectedly at his home following a long illness.
He was born in Lowell on July 11, 1959, and was a son of Joaquina (Abreu) Joy of Hudson, NH and the late Francis Harding. He attended Greater Lowell Technical High School in Tyngsboro.
Prior to his illness, Larry was the owner of Harding and Sons. Earlier in his career he worked as a screen printer, a chef and a car salesman.
He loved fishing and all of the Boston sports teams, especially his beloved New England Patriots. He also enjoyed his fish tanks, golfing and working in his garden.
Larry will be remembered most for his wild spirit that always lit up the center of the room. You could easily pick him out of any crowd where he’d be telling stories, bragging about his long-held Golden Glove fastest knock-out record, showing off his flips and announcing that he “ain't nothin’ nice”. He lived a full life with a kind heart and desire to help anyone in need.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his three children, Brendan J. Gaudette and his wife Katelyn of Dracut, Ariana M. Harding of Lowell and Chase J. Harding and his girlfriend Jillian McCormack of Lowell; four grandchildren, Juleah Gaudette and Aubrey Gaudette, both of Dracut and Logan Normandie and Lylah Beaulieu, both of Lowell; three sisters, Deborah Harding of Lowell, Cynthia Stamp and her husband Neil of Lowell and Kimberly Harding and her fiancé Robert Apkarian of Conway, SC; two brothers, Glenn Harding of Hanover, ME and Eric Joy of Rockaway, NJ; his aunt, Hazel Lawrence of Lowell; his former longtime partner and mother of his sons, Robin Morris of Lowell; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his daughter, Debbie Chapman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Larry’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Wednesday, April 24th from 9:00 until 11:00am followed by his Funeral Service at 12:00pm at Christ Church United - Dracut. Burial will be private.
