DRACUT – Laurette T. (Lalonde) Daigle, 87, a longtime resident of Dracut passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at D'Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell. She was the wife of the late Raymond P. Daigle.
She was born in Lowell on May 17, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Lena (Guilbeault) Lalonde. She received her education in Lowell schools.
Prior to her retirement, Laurette was employed as a circuit assembler by Apollo Computer and then Wang Laboratories. Earlier in her career she worked as seamstress.
Laurette loved children and spent many years as a foster mother, caring for children prior to their adoptions. Whenever someone needed a sitter, they knew that she would jump at the chance. She also enjoyed sewing, especially making clothing for her children.
Laurette will be remembered for her humor and her helpful and giving spirit.
She is survived by her three children, Judy Pinette and her husband Michael of North Hampton, NH, Mark Daigle and his wife Sandra of Nashua, NH, and Dennis Durfee and his wife Sandra of Lehigh Acres, FL; seven grandchildren, Susan Labonte and her husband Alan of Pelham, NH, Jonathan Pinette and his wife Sandra of N. Hampton, NH, Jason Pinette and his wife Victoria of Medford, NJ, Michelle Pinette and her husband Brandon French of E. Kingston, NH,
Amanda Daigle of Pelham, NH, Jameson Pinette of N. Hampton, NH, and Justin Daigle of Nashua, NH; nine great grandchildren, Miranda, Jared, Noah, Jackson, Dylin, Colin, Jacob, Graham, and Finnegan; her sister and best friend, Rita Lalonde of Dracut; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Leona Bourgea, Alfred "Pete" Lalonde, Albert Lalonde, and Raymond Lalonde.
