Loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather

L. Wayne Lannon, 77, a resident of Pelham, NH, formerly of Dracut, passed away on May 31, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born January 28, 1947 in Lowell, MA, to the late Francis and Pauline (Bousquet) Lannon. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Marie (Beshara) Lannon, to whom he was married for 55 years.  

Additionally, he leaves his children, son Matthew Lannon and his wife Liliana of Pelham, NH; daughter Dana Roof and her husband Zachary of North Chelmsford, MA; sister Colleen Bergendahl of Dracut, MA. Brothers-in-law Robert Beshara of Bowdoinham, ME, and his partner, Penelope Norris; Martin Tymowicz of Nashua, NH and his partner, Tami Bohnert;  grandaughters Charlotte and Morgan Roof; step-grandaughter Yaritza Arana. Also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Sheila Tymowicz of Amherst, NH.

Wayne graduated from Dracut High School in 1964. He attended Northeast Industrial School of Design in Boston for one year before entering the Marine Corps in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1969 with the rank of sergeant. He then worked at M/A-COM Inc., as a Mechanical Designer for 23 years. Afterwards, he pursued his hobby of watch repair well into retirement.

Despite the many challenges he faced, he lived a very full life.  He enjoyed an eclectic grouping of hobbies and interests and was an avid collector. In his younger years, he hunted and fished; he was a member of the Dracut American Legion Post 315, and served as Chaplain; as a member of the Centralville Sportsmen’s Club, he competed first on the trap shooting team and later on the pistol team. One of his greatest joys was weekend rides on his Harley Davidson. During his later years he was a backyard beekeeper. 

Relatives and friends are invited to Wayne’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 9:00 until 10:30am followed by his Funeral Service at 10:30am at the funeral home.   All are welcome to follow the procession to Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen after the service for Committal Prayers.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Wayne’s honor to the American Lung Association or the charity of your choice.
