LOWELL - Kim A. Cotto, age 59, a longtime resident of Lowell and former resident of Kingston, NY died Friday, January 15, 2021 following a long, courageous battle with lung cancer and a brain aneurysm.
She was born in Kingston, NY on June 20, 1961, and was a daughter of Julian Cotto of Lowell and the late Shirley (Manfro) Cotto. She received her education in Kingston, NY schools and was a graduate of Kingston High School.
Prior to her illness, Kim was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Hudson Valley Senior Residence in Kingston, NY.
She loved cats, especially her Siamese Cats, which she enjoyed breading.
In addition to her father, Kim is survived by her daughter, Angelina M. Velez of Saugerties, NY; eleven grandchildren, Sondro, Jr., Keisha, Zakadia, Mariah, Angelina, Capone, Lexus, Josh, Jazzmine, Destany, and Juliana; nine great grandchildren, Gabriel, Siyanalis, Jasante, Annabella, Kayden, Jazlyn, Kaiden, Eva Rose, Winter, and a grandchild on the way, Raven; a sister, Helene Brodhead; a nephew, Paul Brodhead; and a niece, Paula Brodhead , all of Kingston, NY.
She was also the mother of the late Sondro Velez, Sr. and sister-in-law of the late John Brodhead.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kim's Life Celebration at MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Wednesday, January 27th from 4:00 until 7:00pm.
