Kevin T. Wholey

DRACUT - Kevin T. Wholey, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on June 14th surrounded by his loving family at the age of 87. He was born in Dracut on June 17. 1929, the son of Matthew and Mary Helena (Collins) Wholey.

Following the death of his mother when he was two years old, he was raised by his grandmother Elizabeth Collins and his two great aunts, Susan and Josephine (Minnie) Fenlon Kevin was raised in the Collinsville section of Dracut and was a graduate of Dracut High School. He attended Northeastern University.

Kevin enjoyed a thirty year distinguished career with the Raytheon Corporation in Lowell and retired from his position as Manager of Production Control in 1990. Previous to his employment at Raytheon, Kevin was a dedicated employee of the A & P Grocery Store in Lowell, where his diligence and hard work led him to the position of Store Manager.

Kevin was a stellar athlete at Dracut High School, quarterbacking the varsity football team and playing second base for the varsity baseball team. He remained athletic throughout his life and was passionate about fitness. He continued exercising, running, walking, biking, swimming and golfing all his life. Kevin was an avid reader. His Irish heritage was a source of great pride for Kevin.

Kevin was the devoted husband of June F. (Sullivan) Wholey, who predeceased him on December 1, 2016. They shared sixty-two wonderful years of marriage. They raised their six children together in Dracut and enjoyed more than forty summers at their cottage on Cobbetts Pond in Windham, NH with family and friends as a member of the Pine Terrace Association. In retirement, Kevin wintered in Englewood, FL with his wife June.

Kevin will be sadly missed by his daughters, Brenda Fitzpatrick and her husband James, Shelagh Galvin, Lisa Wholey, Kara McCarthy and her husband Daniel, Susan Barros and her husband Daniel and his son Kevin D. Wholey and his wife Jeanne (Unger). Kevin was the loving grandfather of Meghan (Fitzpatrick) Caron and her husband John, Kayleigh (Fitzpatrick) Whitney and her husband Robert, Timothy Fitzpatrick and his wife Allison (Trearchis), Ryan Fitzpatrick, Leigha Wholey and her fiancée Kevin Cleary, David Wholey and his wife Jill (Cotty), Eric Wholey, Keith M. Galvin, Michaela Galvin, Nora Galvin, June Wholey, Mary Kate McCarthy, Daniel Barros, Maggie Barros and Natalie Barros.

Kevin's legacy continues with his great grandchildren, Rileigh, Katie, Molly, Sam, Emily, Lily, Jack, Madelynn, Zachary, Aria, Jameson, Callum and Daniel. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Donna Timmons and her husband Earle, sister-in-law Mary Sullivan, brother-in-law Robert L'Hussier and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his late wife June, Kevin was predeceased by his beloved granddaughter Kelly A. (McCarthy) Del Greco. He was also predeceased by his brothers Matthew, Leonard and John Wholey and his sisters Janet Mulligan, Miriam Smith and May Helena "Lena" Connolly.
