Kevin M. McKinley, age 75, a resident of Dracut and former Lowell resident died Monday, June 3, 2024 at Belvidere Healthcare following a long illness.
He was born in Lowell on August 6, 1948, and was a son of the late Edward and Esther (Walsh) McKinley. He attended the former Keith Academy in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School. He went on to earn his Associate Degree in Applied Science from Newbury Junior College in Brookline and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Nathaniel Hawthorne College in Antrim, NH.
Kevin proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 40 years as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Lowell.
In his free time, Kevin enjoyed playing poker with his friends.
Kevin’s family would like to thank the staff of Beacon Hospice and Belvidere Healthcare for their care and compassion.
He is survived by his McKinley cousins, including Mary Gaffney and her husband James of Lowell and his good friends, James and Diana Davis of Dracut.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kevin’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Monday, June 10th from 9:15 until 10:15am followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00am at St. Michael Church in Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell. In lieu of flowers, please do an act of kindness for a veteran.
