Kenneth McAnespie, beloved husband of the late Jeanne (LeBrue) McAnespie, died unexpectedly at his Lowell residence on Monday February 2, 2015.
He was 62.
Ken was born in Lowell on April 28, 1952, a son of the late Thomas F. and Stella (Kasilowski) McAnespie. In June of 1960 He went to live with Richard D. and Theresa (Robert) Provencher, who raised Ken until their passing. Following their death he considered Gerry and Dee Dee Surprenant his parents.
Ken was employed at the Lahey Clinic in the Environmental Services Department. He also worked part time for Seuritas Security Services. Ken loved to play the organ and was the organist for many years at St. Rita Parish. He also assisted at Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish, Holy Family - Ste. Marie Parish, St. Mary Magdalen Parish and the former St. Louis de France Parish.
Ken enjoyed traveling, going out with friends and hanging out at home. He was happiest at work or at home with his cigars and a glass of whiskey, while spoiling his beloved cats, Gingy and Croxie.
Family members recall Ken as a gentle soul who was a kind hearted, hard worker who was always there for friends and family. His late parents and wife were influential people in his life.
Ken was also a charter member of the Merrimack Valley Lions Club and the Chelmsford Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his brothers and their wives, Richard R. and Marilyn Provencher of Dracut, Paul E. and Judith Provencher of Hampton, Francis E. and Patricia Provencher of Lowell, Harry and Debbie Green of Nashua, NH; foster brothers, Mark and Joseph Carpentier; several nieces and nephews including Johnathan Green of Nashua, NH an Liza Provencher of Lowell, with whom he made his home.
