Karen A. Kycia, RN, age 64, of Dracut, MA, passed away unexpectedly at home on October 12, 2018. She was the beloved daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Lynch) Kycia of Dracut, formerly of Lowell. Karen grew up in Lowell, MA and graduated from St Michael's School and Lowell High School. She received her BS degree in nursing from Lowell State College and her MSN degree from the University of Lowell.
Karen was a dedicated nursing professional. At the time of her death she was working at Lowell General Hospital, Saints Campus, where she had worked for many years. She had also worked at Beth Israel Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital, and taught nursing courses at Rivier University and Worcester State University.
Karen enjoyed spending time with friends, swimming, scuba diving and other aquatic activities. She was always there to assist someone in need and was a devoted daughter. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Parish in Lowell, MA.
She is survived by her lifelong friend, Kathryn Kring, and her husband, William Kring of Dudley, MA and Boothbay, ME; her godson, William Kring Jr, and his wife, Karen Chan Kring, of Milton, MA; and several cousins and many friends.
KYCIA - Relatives and friends are invited to Karen's Life Celebration on Wednesday, from 6:00 until 7:30 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street. A Prayer Service will conclude the Visitation at 7:30 PM. Burial will be private.
