June Frances (Sullivan) Wholey

DRACUT - June Frances (Sullivan) Wholey, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully, on Thursday December 1, 2016, surrounded by her loving family in her Dracut home, at the age of 83. She was the devoted wife of Kevin T. Wholey with whom she shared sixty-two wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on June 12, 1933, she was the daughter of the late G. Douglas and Nora (Cummings) Sullivan. She was educated in Lowell and was a graduate of Keith Hall and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1953. June was a registered nurse and enjoyed a thirty-six year career as a public health and school nurse with the Lowell Health Department. She was a long-term member and president of the Lowell Catholic Nurses Association. She was member of St. Michael Parish for over sixty years.
June greatly appreciated time spent with her family. The daughter of an Irish immigrant, Nora Cummings, June cherished her Irish heritage and was blessed with a devout Catholic faith and a good sense of Irish humor. She demonstrated kindness and compassion toward everyone she encountered throughout her life. She enjoyed more than four decades of summers at Cobbett's Pond in Windham, NH with her family and friends as a member of the Pine Terrace Association. In retirement, June wintered in Englewood, Florida with her husband, Kevin.
June is survived by her husband Kevin T. Wholey and will be greatly missed by her daughters Brenda Fitzpatrick and her husband James, Shelagh Galvin, Lisa Wholey, Kara McCarthy and her husband Daniel, and Susan Barros and her husband Daniel and her son, Kevin D. Wholey and his wife Jeanne. June was the loving grandmother of Meghan (Fitzpatrick) Caron and her husband John, Kayleigh (Fitzpatrick) Whitney and her husband Robert, Timothy Fitzpatrick and his wife Allison, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Leigha Wholey and her fiancée Kevin Cleary, David Wholey and his wife Jill, Eric Wholey, Keith M. Galvin, Michaela Galvin, Nora Galvin, June Wholey, Kelly (McCarthy) Del Greco and her husband Michael, Mary Kate McCarthy, Daniel Barros, Maggie Barros and Natalie Barros. June's legacy continues with her great grandchildren, Rileigh, Katie, Molly, Sam, Emily, Lily, Madelynn, Zachary, Aria, Jameson, Callum and Daniel. She is also survived by her sister Donna (Sullivan) Timmins and her husband Earl, as well as her sister-in-law Mary Sullivan and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Brenda (Sullivan) L'Hussier and her
brothers G. Douglas Sullivan and Jerrold H. Sullivan.
