Julie A. Gagnon

LOWELL-Julie A. (Laroche) Gagnon, 89, lifelong Lowell resident, beloved wife for more than 61 years of Andre P. Gagnon, died Thursday January 7, 2010 at the D'Youville Senior Care Center.
Born March 22, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Amedee and Annette (Germain) Laroche.
She was educated in both the Lowell and Dracut School systems, attending St. Joseph High School and Dracut High School. After High School, she attended a seamstress school in Boston and became an accomplished dressmaker. She worked for many years in Boston for R.H. Stearns Co. and later in Lowell for Cherry & Webb.
After her marriage to Andre in 1948, she became a homemaker. In 1954, Julie helped found AG Hardware. During its first years, Julie managed the payroll for the business at her home.
Julie enjoyed traveling on many trips throughout the world.
She was a communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne D'Arc Church.
Julie lovingly raised four sons who survive her, Paul Gagnon and his wife, Suzanne, Donald Gagnon, Carl Gagnon and his wife, Linda, Louis Gagnon and his wife, Mary; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Germain Laroche, PhD. and his wife, Lorraine of Maine; a brother-in-law, Rev. Herve Gagnon, OMI of Lowell; a sister in law, Maria (Gagnon) SanCartier of Jaffrey, NH.
She was the sister of the late Armand, Philip and Jean Paul Laroche
